Liv Thai sells handmade goods from artisans of Chiang Mai, Thailand. The vision is to expand the artisan’s market share, grow their businesses, and cross cultures through beauty. The goods include handmade totes and handbags, leather goods, 3-wrap and 5-wrap bracelets, and more, all in a variety of colors and styles.
I had the privilege of working for Liv Steffen, Liv Thai's founder, to create their logo, business cards, and elements of product branding (i.e., tags, stickers, and leather and metal stamping pictured below). The logo was inspired by Thai patterns, textiles, and architecture. It is a modern-twist on the triangular shape of both the traditional kranok pattern and the classic Thai roofline. It also pulls from the Liv Thai typeface, incorporating the 'a' and 'v'. Lastly, it is three parts—together seen as one. It symbolizes the protection of the Father and the Son, as when Jesus speaks of whoever abides in the father abides in me, and I in him.
