The founder of Chillinois is a lover of two things: the 90s and good coffee. He started buying thrifted 90s goods in 2018, with the dream of doing pop-up shops at local coffee shops. How much more fun can a business idea get? I was pumped to work with him. When creating the logo, I wanted to reflect the purpose of the business through utilizing branding heavily inspired by 90s graphic design. I created a custom, handwritten word mark, using the sharp and fast moments typically found in 90s typography. By using a word mark as their logo (in comparison to a logo such as a symbol), the client can use it as a signature on all their products and marketing material, making it highly functional.
